Families First divorce education (Transparenting)

The purpose of the Families First program is to help parents understand the effects of divorce on their children and to promote positive parenting during this critical time. The Families First program provides divorcing parents with minor children information and training on how to parent during a divorce or custody dispute. CAP Center is licensed to provide this seminar by the national organization, Families First, Inc. In 2009, CAP Center served 264 parents and 49 children.

Decreased incidence of child maltreatment in Dallas County.

Program participants will find the seminar to be helpful.

Program participants will find the information provided to help me with their spouse/ex-spouse.

Program participants will find The information to help to understand their children.

Program participants will find the information to influence attitudes toward their children in a positive way.

Program participants will recommend this seminar to other divorcing parents.
Success monitored by:
1. Number of Parents and children educated
2. Participant Evaluations
3. Referrals from Dallas Family Courts
Evidence of success:
In 2009:

91% of participants found the seminar to be helpful.

83% of participants found the information helpful in communicating with ex-spouse.

89% of participants found the information helpful to understand their children.

93% of participants found the information helpful in influencing their attitude towards their children.

88% of participants would recommend the seminar to other divorcing parents.
