In addition to public appearances on radio and television, we speak at area civic and church functions, telling the Austin Street story. Working with area schools, churches and civic groups, we ensure that 365 meals are served each evening, that lunches are served during inclement weather and that all volunteer requests are handled promptly. Ms. Austin coordinates the annual Holiday Giving program, securing donations of toys, turkeys and gift baskets for more 300 families in our surrounding neighborhood. Ms. Austin conducts tours of Austin Street Centre to visiting groups and individuals.

Definition of long-term success:

To create awareness to the public at large on the mission of Austin Street Centre, to tell of its successes, to create a loyal donor base; work with area schools, churches and civic groups coordinating volunteer meal service, social functions and other interactions with Austin Street’s clients.

Definition of short-term success:

Nightly meal service is fully scheduled for the next 12 months, with a waiting list of volunteer groups wanting to participate. Ms. Austin has appeared on two radio shows and three television shows in the past, at five speaking engagements and has more scheduled for next three months.
