Priority: 1
Budget: $67,000.00

While the majority of Austin Street’s clients leave the shelter at 6 a.m., many need shelter and care during the day. These clients include those who have been recently released from the hospital, those who require hospice care, those who work during the evening hours, those who are elderly, and those who are physically or mentally handicapped. Additionally, while male clients cannot “check in” until 3 p.m., women and children may “check in” beginning at 11 a.m. Women and children can receive their showers before the male clients arrive for the evening. Lunches are served from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. by volunteer groups.
