Family Support Program

The primary function of the Family Support program is to provide informational materials to (ex)offenders and their loved ones. This information includes our published materials as well information collected about resources available to Dallas-area offenders and loved ones and provides referral information when requested by callers.


Definition of long-term success:
Long term success can be defined whether the population we serve continue to view OPEN INC as a viable source of reentry, employment or coping information for dealing with iccarceration issues.
Definition of short-term success:
End users of our materials deem them to be valuable to their needs.
Success monitored by:
Tracking of Inmate/Family requests.
Evidence of success:
In FY 2009, responded to approximately 1,426 information requests from offenders and/or family members, providing approximately 1,263 free copies of our educational materials and 163 informational packets about resources available to help offenders and their loved ones.

In FY 2008, responded to approximately 1,431 information requests from offenders and/or family members, providing approximately 1,145 free copies of our educational materials and 219 informational packets about resources available to help offenders and their loved ones.

In FY 2007, responded to approximately 2,072 information requests from offenders and/or family members, providing approximately 1,845 free copies of our educational materials and 227 informational packets about resources available to help offenders and their loved ones.

In FY 2006, responded to approximately 1,081 information requests from offenders and/or family members, providing approximately 783 free copies of our educational materials and 228 informational packets about resources available to help offenders and their loved ones.

In FY 2005, responded to approximately 825 information requests from offenders and/or family members, providing approximately 613 free copies of our educational materials and 212 informational packets about resources available to help offenders and their loved ones.
