It is our privilege at Communities Foundation of Texas to make charitable investments in the vital nonprofit organizations that meet community needs.

There are two main types of grants awarded by Communities Foundation of Texas:  donor-advised and competitive. Donor-advised grants normally are recommended by donors for specific charitable organizations in Dallas, around Texas and across the country. Competitive grants come from discretionary funds and Communities Foundation of Texas exercises greater flexibility with these to fund a variety of local projects and programs. Applications are accepted for competitive grants.

The CFT board of trustees awards grants available through discretionary funds in competitive grant processes during the spring and fall. Donor-advised grants are awarded year round.
