Communities Foundation of Texas (CFT) is excited to be working with South by Southwest (SXSW) on its first-ever philanthropic fund. A hub for collaboration between donors, nonprofits and other funders to stimulate creative solutions to key community challenges, CFT has granted more than $1.2 billion since its founding in 1953. Meanwhile, South by Southwest is the 10-day Music, Film and Interactive event that brings thousands of creative minds to Austin each March for panels, networking business opportunities and fun.

James 1:5 Scholarship Award recipient receives $40,000 scholarship

Communities Foundation of Texas announces it has awarded the very first James 1:5 Scholarship to Ryan Lorey of Rockwall. Lorey, a recent graduate of Rockwall Heath High School, will receive a four-year, $40,000 scholarship --- the largest scholarship given to one individual by CFT, and one of the largest ever given to a Rockwall student.
