New Schools
Through the New Schools initiative, the Texas High School Project is providing new options for underserved students by funding efforts by high-performing school operators to replicate programs that have achieved records of educational success. The initiative also will create a network of quality high schools in areas of great need. This initiative will increase the ability of outstanding school operators to transform the lives of underserved minority and economically disadvantaged students.
THSP New Schools Initiative intends to achieve consistently outstanding results by focusing on innovation in teaching and design while providing a rigorous curriculum that prepares every student for success in college, work and life.
These high-performance schools will provide new education models for the public school system, demonstrating that all children can achieve, regardless of prior academic record, conduct or socio-economic background.
THSP/CFT has committed nearly $10 million to the scaling of new school networks. To date, grants have been awarded to five charter management organizations and 18 new high schools.
