Dr. Rodney H. Rodriguez is the senior director for RGV FOCUS. He leads the RGV FOCUS strategy: The Cradle-To-Career Educational Pathway and educational access for students in the region. Dr. Rodriguez partners with educational philanthropic, business sector, economic development, state government, community-based organizations, and nonprofit partners through collective impact framework.
Prior to joining CFT, Dr. Rodriguez worked for over 20 years in early childhood education, workforce, economic development, and postsecondary education. During his tenure with Laredo College, he established the IMPACT Economic Development Forum which provided scholarships for students and served as a member of the City of Laredo Economic Development Advisory Committee.
Dr. Rodriguez earned his bachelor's and master's degrees from Texas A&M International University in Laredo, Texas and his Ph.D. in Leadership Studies from Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) in San Antonio, Texas. During his doctoral program, he was a Alpha Chi Honor Society Top 10 Percent from OLLU. He published his disseration on "The Relationship Between the Followers' Perception of the Leaders' Leadership Style and Job Satisfaction in South Texas Community Colleges."
Community Leadership / Board ServiceDr. Rodriguez was awarded the Association of Forwarding Agents International Outstanding Committment Award and was the Laredo Manufacturing Association Port of Laredo Distinguished Speaker.
