Tonya is director of Best in Class, a coalition powered by CFT and the Commit Partnership, focused on educator effectiveness, seeking to attract, prepare, develop and retain the best educators.

Prior to joining CFT, Tonya was a public school teacher, instructional coach, principal and principal supervisor in the Dallas ISD. She was among the first cohort of Accelerating Campus Excellence (ACE) principals for the district. Her work with Best in Class focuses on the expansion of the ACE school model and strategic compensation across Texas.

Tonya holds a bachelor's in interdisciplinary studies from Texas Woman's University and a master's in instricutional leadership from the University of North Texas.
