Board chairman James E. Bass joined CFT’s board of trustees in 2011. Jim serves as a member of the board of managers of Trinity Summits, LLC, Snowbird Holdings, LLC, and the board of directors of Reata Pharmaceuticals, Inc. Jim has legal, business and civic leadership experience arising from his work in Dallas, Hong Kong and California.
Prior to moving to Dallas in 2002, Jim was an attorney for Gibson, Dunn and Crutcher in both California and Hong Kong, serving as a co-managing partner of the firm's Hong Kong office in the mid-1990s. Jim holds a B.A. from Yale University and a J.D. from Stanford University Law School.
Jim and his wife, Hong, live in Dallas and have three children.
In his role as board chair, Jim works closely with Dave Scullin, Communities Foundation of Texas’s CEO and president.
