As deputy director of programs for CFT, Juan assists in implementing college access programs throughout the state that allow students to thrive as they look to transition to higher education.

Prior to joining CFT, Juan worked at Dallas College as a TRIO academic adviser and a program lead for the Male Achievement Program. In those roles, he collaborated with students from diverse backgrounds to aid in the navigation of their higher education journey. He also assisted in the creation and implementation of frameworks that allowed students to gain knowledge through experiential learning to foster a student-centered culture.

Juan holds a bachelor’s in psychology and a master’s in organization, learning and technology from Texas A&M University – Commerce. Here, he was named the university’s inaugural Inclusive Excellence Champion. Additionally, Juan is a Northeast State Representative for the Texas Association for Chicanos in Higher Education (TACHE).
