At CFT, we believe that a thriving community is one in which all people feel cared for, invested in, nourished and valued, and have an equitable opportunity to contribute to the well-being and growth of themselves, their families and their communities.

General Eligibility Requirements

Nonprofits seeking to apply to CFT’s Community Grants must meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • 501(c)(3) tax-exempt designation from the Internal Revenue Service that has been active for at least two years.
  • At least 50% of the population served must reside in one of the following counties:

Communities Foundation of Texas and The Dallas Foundation announced the  launch of a common equity grant application for nonprofits focused on accelerating equity in communities that have been historically and systematically disenfranchised. 

This grant opportunity is open to nonprofits that are deeply rooted in under-resourced neighborhoods, have a clear understanding of their community's needs, and provide a comprehensive range of services to enhance the quality of life for residents.
