April 25: Brainious Screening

CFT             Momentous Institute

Momentous Institute and Communities Foundation of Texas invite you to a screening of the documentary film Brainious

We know as a fact that the way we "feed" a child's brain shapes it, but what do we know about the kind of experiences that are helpful to grow a healthy young brain?

Brainious is a film that shares useful neuro-knowledge for parents and educators in order to help children thrive and reach their full potential.

From understanding emotions with the brain in mind to the importance of secure attachment, mindset and how to improve focus and learning abilities, Brainious covers a broad spectrum of subjects. If you really want to understand what shapes children’s brains and how to provide healthy experiences for young minds to grow in, this documentary is a must-see.

In collaboration with many bright minds : Allan Schore, Dan Siegel, Tina Payne Bryson, Carol Dweck, Matthieu Ricard, and Susan Kaiser Greenland and featuring the work of Momentous Institute and several other incredible agencies.

Please join us April 25 for a documentary screening and discussion with Michelle Kinder, executive director of Momentous Institute and Sarah Cotton Nelson, chief philanthropy officer of Communities Foundation of Texas. Additionally, Stéphanie Brilliant, the producer of Brainious, will be joining us for the film screening.

Brainious is not about how smart a child is, but how a child can be smart. This documentary explains what every adult should know about kids' brains in order to help children thrive and unlock their potential. Today, we do know a lot about the brain, but curiously, we don't use our knowledge to raise our children or educate them. Schools are still the same, parents have the same doubts and they make the same mistakes. Knowing what is happening in our children's brains changes the paradigm and forces us to think about education in a more enlightened way. From emotion to mindsets, Brainious resonates with our inner-child … and helps us to better understand the grown-ups we've become.
