United Way of Metropolitan Dallas

Communities Foundation of Texas has partnered with the United Way of Metropolitan Dallas (UWMD), and Trusted World to offer Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) supplies to nonprofits working to address the urgent basic needs exacerbated by the coronavirus pandemic. Many clinics, food pantries, and other social service organizations find themselves in dire need of PPE, but without any options to access them. CFT and UWMD have vetted dozens of PPE suppliers to find best low-cost option. UWMD will be placing a bulk order of PPE goods to be able to offer them for free to nonprofits who cannot afford to purchase them. The free supplies will include K-N95 masks, 3-ply disposable masks, nitrile gloves, and hand sanitizer.  After purchasing the bulk order of supplies, Trusted World will manage the collection and distribution of goods. Trusted World focuses on distributing donated goods to nonprofits and are already equipped with the technology (online request system), experience and capacity to distribute the PPE supplies and hand sanitizer effectively. The program anticipates serving over 100 nonprofits in the next six months.
