The Palacios Area Fund has been awarding scholarships to deserving Palacios High School seniors since 1993. The scholarships are awarded to graduating seniors of Palacios High School. Up to five scholarships will be awarded annually in the amount of $500 - $1,000 each. These scholarships may be used at any accredited college, university, junior college, vocational institute, or trade school in the United States. Selection criteria includes school and community participation, demonstrated leadership potential and financial need as determined by the scholarship committee. A scholarship committee made up of benefactors and local citizens review the submitted applications each year.

Allen Morris, the son of Edward Morris, participates on the Palacios Area Fund Scholarship Review Committee each year to help award deserving Palacios High School seniors with a scholarship in his father’s memory.
