A Fresh Perspective: Through the Eyes of the Executive Director


Each year, we host a conversation around nonprofit board service which usually takes the form of discussions around governance or perspectives from Board members. This year, we decided to take on this conversation from the perspective of Executive Directors within Nonprofits. Our Women’s Collective Event welcomed close to one hundred women in business and women in nonprofit. Attendees included women who serve on a board or were interested in Board service.

The Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy (CAP®) Study Group Program has provided a collaborative forum that brings professional advisors and nonprofit leaders around the same table to learn about charitable planning and build lasting professional networks. For nearly a decade this peer-learning experience has empowered participants to be more connected to philanthropic resources and help their clients and donors maximize community impact.

CFT's Emerging Leaders in Philanthropy Cohort Graduates, Awards $50,000

$50,000 grant will further education equity through nonprofit Per Scholas


CFT and our inaugural cohort of young philanthropists, “Emerging Leaders in Philanthropy” (ELP), are thrilled to announce a $50,000 grant award to Per Scholas to further equity in education. 75 emerging leaders graduated from the inaugural cohort in June 2019.

The Dallas Regional Chamber Young Professionals (DRC YP) recently hosted area young professionals for a panel discussion featuring nonprofit leaders as part of their “Get On Board” initiative. Communities Foundation of Texas’ chief relationship officer, Monica Egert Smith, kicked off the event and moderated the panel discussion with nonprofit leaders.
