$50,000 in funds awarded to five North Korean refugees to pursue higher education


The Bush Institute’s 2021 North Korea Freedom Scholarship recipients have been announced. The scholars, who are refugees from North Korea, have been awarded a total of $50,000 to pursue higher education and build productive, prosperous lives as new Americans.

Emma Lazarus Resilience Fund

City of Dallas and CFT partner to establish financial assistance fund


CFT has partnered with the City of Dallas Office of Welcoming Communities and Immigrant Affairs (WCIA) and the Open Society Foundations (OSF) to establish the Emma Lazarus Resilience Fund, a publicprivate effort providing $600,000 in financial assistance to individuals and families ineligible for federal COVID-19 relief programs.

The City of Dallas has announced that 813 families received cash assistance through the Emma Lazarus Resilience Fund in the span of five months.
