CFO Mike Redfearn Retires After 20-Year Career in Finance at CFT

As he prepared to retire in June, Mike Redfearn, vice president, finance, and chief financial officer, looked back on 20 years of service at Communities Foundation of Texas.

During that time, the foundation’s assets grew from $140 million to more than $750 million, and cumulative grants rose from $145 million to almost $1 billion.

“It’s been an honor and a privilege to be

associated with one of the finest community foundations in the United States,” he said.

“Mike provided stable and prudent guidance for the foundation’s finances,” said Brent Christopher, president and CEO, noting that Mike also served as corporate treasurer. “His dedication and hard work for two decades were an important part of CFT’s success. Our donors, trustees and staff wish him well!”

A graduate of Southern Methodist University, Mr. Redfearn joined CFT in 1988 as controller after working in the industrial wholesale distribution industry. He and his wife of 45 years, Elayne, plan to travel and spend time with their three sons and five grandchildren.
