As a hub for Philanthropy, CFT is at the forefront of community needs in North Texas. This year, thanks to donors like you, CFT has granted over $660,000 to 40 nonprofits in North Texas through the 2011 Giving Guide.
“Our donors are passionate about different areas, and the Giving Guide allows us to give them a breadth of funding options in which their dollars will make a difference,” says Brent Christopher, president and CEO of CFT.
Each year, CFT vets over 300 nonprofits to compile a list of local projects needing funding. The list includes a wide variety of agencies serving the North Texas community. The Giving Guide was started two years ago by CFT in an effort to connect donor passions with community needs. The guide is a valuable resource for anyone when they are trying to make an impact locally.
For example, thanks to funding through the Giving Guide, 22 aspiring principals will participate in the Teaching Trust this June. The funding supports the ED-Entrepreneur Center, a partnership between the Teaching Trust and SMU’s Simmons School of Education, which is developing an effective pipeline of transformational school leaders that are prepared and highly motivated to take on the challenges of leading urban schools.
