Dallas Black Dance Theatre Partners with CFT

Dallas Black Dance Theatre (DBDT), the premier professional modern dance company in Dallas, has taken steps to secure its financial future by establishing designated and endowment funds with Communities Foundation of Texas.

“During DBDT’s 35th Anniversary Season the organization launched its capacity building and institutional stability campaign to elevate artistic excellence by enhancing the quality of its performances, education programs and organizational capacity,” said Zenetta S. Drew, executive director. “DBDT chose to partner with CFT because of its stellar reputation for funds management.”

Proceeds from DBDT’s designated fund support its education and outreach programs, including the prestigious California-based Debbie Allen Summer Institute held for a second year in collaboration with DBDT in its Dallas Arts District studios. DBDT utilizes its endowment fund earnings to support day-to-day operations of the company including facility maintenance, security, outreach performances and educational services.
