Dallas Area Habitat for Humanity
Dallas Area Habitat for Humanity seeks to put God's love into action to bring people together to build homes, communities and hope. Women Build Dallas will unite the power of 100 Dallas women to help change the lives of hundreds of women dreaming of homeownership. In celebration of the 100th Anniversary of Women’s Right to Vote, this Committee will contribute their talent, treasure, and time to build a Habitat home, repair ten homes, and provide financial education – helping support women in their financial journey. Nearly 70% of Habitat clients are women head of household and 41% are single mothers. Habitat’s Women Build Dallas will kick off in October and include a series of events that support women in the community, past and present. Women Build Dallas will also support the launch of an ongoing Habitat pre- and post-purchase Homeowner education class that will teach the importance of voter participation, advocacy, and involvement in the city’s affordable housing policy conversation. Each year through education and construction, they serve over 3,000 households in West Dallas, Joppa, Bonton and East Oak Cliff.
