Faith in Texas

Faith in Texas is a multi-racial, multi-faith movement developing civic leadership in faith communities for economic and racial justice. Funding will support Dream Free, their voter engagement work in partnership with member congregations. Each congregation will develop plans to achieve 100% voting in their congregations and help register and turn out underrepresented voters through their personal networks, block-walks and phone banks. They train their leaders in "deep canvass" principles, emphasizing transformative, quality conversations over volume. This year they will also gather the untold stories of women of color who've led or assisted with civic engagement efforts. Their stories will be shared at voter-targeted forums and through trainings, emails and social media posts. During their peak Get Out the Vote season in summer and fall 2020, they will create moments to celebrate these untold stories of women of color. They serve 250 well-trained and developed volunteer leaders each year, a majority of whom are women of color.
