Friends of Aldredge House

Friends of Aldredge House provides long-term financial security for Aldredge House as an acclaimed architectural landmark and historic house museum, and to present inclusive, community-focused educational programs appropriate to the house and highlighting Dallas history. Funding will support the Living History program that will feature suffragettes and others who fought for women's voting rights on local, state-wide, and national stages. They will research and script historically accurate roles for suffragists and produce creative, engaging stories that will celebrate 19th Amendment efforts and reveal unintended consequences that limited voting, especially for poor and minority groups. Voter registration will be encouraged during all events. They will also provide tailored living history programs for three Dallas ISD high schools and during the Swiss Avenue Mother's Day Tour. Last year they had 2,200 visitors including over 100 DISD youth.
