The GEMS Camp
The GEMS (Girls interested in Engineering, Math and Science) Camp is a Dallas-based non-profit organization whose mission is to build confidence in underserved teen girls through Academics, Leadership, Service, Career, and Creativity so that they will be successful in STEM studies and careers. The program includes strengthening of math and science skills, targeted mentoring that is tailored to the underserved community's needs, delivering an engaging STEM experience with exposure to role models within DFW STEM industries, and building local and international communities of prepared girls so that the number and quality of girls pursuing STEM degrees will increase.
"We are enthusiastic about building a board that is of diverse background and experience level. The board will strive to constantly have seven board members that include a chairman, vice chairman, secretary, treasurer, and four additional directors with a variety of skills needed."
