17th annual volunteer day honors 9/11 through joint service

Honoring the lives lost and forever changed on 9/11/01, CFT for Business presented its 17th annual Freedom Day, a community service event last September that was part of CFT’s North Texas Giving Day. In recognition of the courage and bravery of the men and women who fight for our freedom and those first responders who protect us, we dedicated this day of service to them by supporting local organizations that provide essential services to veterans, first responders and their families.

“Stewart Law Group PLLC was honored to celebrate our one-year anniversary at CFT’s Freedom Day. We enjoyed creating over 1,000 care packages and writing notes of encouragement to service men and women. I cannot think of a more rewarding way to celebrate our anniversary than to honor our military currently serving our country and the lives lost as a result of 9/11. Thank you for this opportunity to serve!” -

“BVA’s participation allowed us to serve together while honoring our veterans and their families. We had the opportunity to hear from a WWII veteran and
to clean headstones at the DFW National Cemetery, while reminiscing about those who have served our country and lost their lives. It was a time of reflection, and we are glad to have been a small part of this massive effort involving many others across our community.”

The Fallen Family Fund at CFT supports Freedom Day

“It’s been the greatest gift,” said Nancy. “I feel like what granddad gave us was an opportunity – an opportunity to make a difference and to explore within ourselves something he had already figured out: lifting up the people around you is what matters most. He knew that the fund could bring good to others but also to us as we practiced generosity together.”

Throughout 2018, 1st Global continued to live out one of the company’s guiding principles: aspiring to servant leadership through community outreach and volunteerism. Supported by a now three-year partnership with Communities Foundation of Texas for Business, 1st Global has annually increased its social responsibility efforts in the Dallas community.

Partnering with local companies like NETSCOUT to help business philanthropy thrive

When NETSCOUT needed a partner to implement and launch their local charitable grant program, they turned to Communities Foundation of Texas.

This past fall, NETSCOUT established a charitable fund known as a business-advised fund with CFT. Next, CFT helped NETSCOUT engage their employees in learning how nonprofits are addressing important issues in the community and choosing focus areas for the company’s grant funds.
