North Texas Community Giving Foundation
The North Texas Community Giving Foundation is dedicated to making an impact in North Texas by supporting nonprofits who align with their vision of improving the health, education, and welfare of our community. They are comprised of an all volunteer 11-member board who came together to make a difference in our community. They are interested in bringing experienced and diverse individuals on the board who can contribute their level of expertise. They are an all-volunteer working board who are passionate about the mission of the Foundation, which is to financially assist local charities which strengthen our community. Currently the Foundation funds this mission through the Texas Big Star half-marathon & 5K. This is an event that they have yearly to raise funds for nonprofits in the area through a grant application process. They are looking to expand their board in order to explore new opportunities to fund their mission, including obtaining corporate partnerships.
Board Member Needs:
They are seeking four board members to help explore new opportunities to fund their mission, including obtaining corporate sponsorships. As a relatively young board, they are looking for individuals who can take initiative. They want a board member who can spot gaps in their foundation and then also take the initiative to fill that gap.
Requirements:
At this time there is no financial requirement necessary. However, it is expected that each board member will bring in sponsors for the Texas Big Star event, or the Christmas fundraising concert they have in December. Board members are also expected to volunteer at these two signature events.
Other Information:
The board meets the second Wednesday of each month
