Story Power

Story PowerWe have all experienced the power of a great story to change the way we see ourselves and our lives. Young girls, particularly in middle school, are in special need of these stories at a time when they are still forming their identities.

To help these girls and families, Story Power is committed to providing Dallas ISD middle school libraries with extraordinary books by and about women, and providing their teachers with curricular support, to bring these powerful stories to life.

Award winning books like House on Mango Street by Sandra Cisneros, an intimate portrait of a young girl growing up in the barrio of Chicago, or Lorraine Hansberry's landmark play A Raisin in the Sun can open up entirely new vistas for girls (and boys.)

Please join us in this effort. Your gift can make a difference in the lives of young girls through the deep power of stories.
