Heroes on the Water
Heroes on the Water helps wounded veterans and active duty military relax, rehabilitate, and reintegrate through kayak fishing and the outdoors. Funding is requested to support the implementation of an online training portal to train over 500 volunteers who serve on chapter leadership teams in 35 states serving 7,500+ warriors per year. The online training portal will prove useful as they work to add a second DFW chapter.

Metroplex Military Charitable Trust
Metroplex Military Charitable Trust (MMCT) provides economic support to military personnel (regular, reserved or retired) and to military support charities and volunteer organizations. Metroplex Veterans Legal Services, a project of MMCT, provides free legal counsel and advice to low income, unemployed, homeless, disabled, elderly or at-risk homeless veterans. Legal matters such as unresolved traffic tickets and bankruptcy become barriers for veterans to obtain employment. Funds are requested to support Metroplex Veterans Legal Services, specifically for personnel costs, software costs, and IT maintenance costs.

North Texas Healing Waters
North Texas Healing Waters is dedicated to the physical and emotional rehabilitation of disabled veterans and active personnel through fly-fishing and associated activities including education and outings. Funds are requested for continued operations for outings to Oklahoma's Lower Mountain Fork River. Funds are also requested for fly rods, reels, line, waders and boots to take additional veterans on trips. Trips are either one-day or three-day with 13 veterans attending per trip. Finally, funds are requested for a large capacity van for traveling to and from retreat destinations.

Patriot Paws Service Dogs
Patriot Paws Service Dogs' mission is to train and provide service dogs of the highest quality at no cost to disabled American veterans and others with mobile disabilities in order to help restore their physical and emotional independence. Funds are requested for their prison training program which teaches inmates to train service dogs. Participating inmates' recidivism rates are below 1%. Funds are also requested for traditional service dog training, as well as training for veterans receiving service dogs and for the follow up required after placement of a dog in a veteran's home.

Paws for Reflection Ranch
Paws for Reflection Ranch provides a healthy, educational, motivational and recreational environment utilizing equine and other animal-assisted therapies to enhance the quality of life for all clients. Funding is requested for expansion of the Boots of Honor Veterans Program, a program serving military veterans and their families at no cost. Participants choose the services that fit them best, including traditional counseling, equine therapy, music therapy, play therapy and equine-assisted counseling. Funding is also requested for construction of an indoor arena, which will allow for expansion of therapeutic riding and therapeutic horsemanship groups, and a veterans program. Finally, funding is needed for operational costs such as utilities, horse care, small animal care, animal enrichment and website enrichment.

PeopleFund creates economic opportunity and financial stability for underserved people by providing access to capital, education, and resources to build healthy small businesses. Funds are requested to expand their Spanish-only program, Emprende, as well as adding more bilingual programming to expand their reach into Spanish-speaking neighborhoods. Funds are also requested for their PeopleVet program, which offers education and lending curriculum for veterans, underwriting for each participant a $20,000 business loan at a 5% rate. The program helps veteran entrepreneurs transition to successful civilian life. Finally, funds are requested to expand lending, education and networking through their women's program, PeopleSpring.

Soldiers' Angels
Soldiers' Angels serves 2,600 Dallas veterans annually by providing aid and comfort to the men and women of the armed services and their families. Funding is requested to cover expenses of lunches and dinners for veterans in need of a nutritious meal while waiting at the Dallas VA Hospital for out-patient services, or for homeless veterans. Funding is also requested for hygiene kits for homeless veterans at the hospital's annual Stand Down event. Finally, funding is requested for monthly food pantries and/or lunches or dinners at the Veterans Resource Center.

Veterans Coalition of North Central Texas
Veterans Coalition of North Central Texas supports veterans with housing, entrepreneuship and career development, mental health assistance, higher education/job training and financial education. Funds are requested to hire an additional staff person for program implementation, and to build a comprehensive veterans database of veterans resources and veterans service organizations. Finally funds are requested to support Operation Healthy Reunions, a mental health counseling program that provides individual, couples, and family counseling, as well as anger management. The organization would like to expand Operation Healthy Reunions to also serve families of veterans left behind as a result of suicide, or because of their loved one being killed in action.
