Andy Smith is the director of giving and volunteering for Texas Instruments and is the executive director of the TI Foundation. He joined TI in 1997, where his roles have included media relations and leading the worldwide marketing communications team for TI’s analog businesses. Prior to joining TI, he worked as development director for several nonprofit organizations.

A fifth-generation Texan, Andy received an associate degree from Tyler Junior College and a B.A. from Southern Methodist University, cum laude. He and his husband, Paul von Wupperfeld, reside in the Turtle Creek area of Dallas. In his spare time, Andy enjoys traveling, exercising, reading, and grilling.

COMMUNITY LEADERSHIP / BOARD SERVICE

In addition to his service to CFT, Andy is active in the community, serving on several boards including the All Angels Foundation, Dallas Assembly, Dallas Education Foundation, Dallas Theater Center, TACA (The Arts Community Alliance), the SMU Dedman College executive board, and the SMU Corporate Communication and Public Affairs advisory board. Additionally, he is a 2010 Leadership Dallas alumnus.

Andy received a 2021 Obelisk Award in the Business Champion of the Arts category, and he was a co-chair of the 2021 Dallas Symphony Gala and galas for the Dallas Summer Musicals (2017), the Dallas Theater Center (2019), and the 2023 TACA Silver Cup Award Luncheon. He is also co-chairing the 2024 Art Ball.
