Communities Foundation of Texas (CFT) is proud to partner with our generous donors on the following scholarship opportunities.

Each scholarship has a unique set of eligibility criteria and application processes, as outlined below. Please review all application requirements and deadlines carefully. No documentation will be accepted outside of the application portal or after the scholarship deadlines listed below.

Please note the scholarship universal application opens January 15, 2025.

The AAF Dallas Foundation Scholarship Fund provides one-year scholarships up to $2,000 to current college students pursuing an associate’s, bachelor’s, or master’s degree in the many fields that make up the advertising and marketing family.

Eligibility:
  • In order to apply students must be classified as either a sophomore or junior in college, or working towards a masters degree.
  • Eligible students must have a minimum 3.0 GPA.
  • Students must attend a collegiate institution in Collin, Cooke, Dallas, Denton, Ellis, Grayson, Hunt, Johnson, Kaufman, Rockwall and Tarrant Counties.
  • Applicants must be United States citizens or documented legal residents of the United States.
Selection Criteria:

Selection criteria will primarily focus on career ambitions in advertising and/or marketing, contributions to the collegiate advertising/marketing community, financial need, and school and community participation. However demonstrated leadership potential, essay response, letters of recommendation will also be taken in to consideration.

Applicants are required to complete an essay and encouraged to submit an explanation of financial need. Applicants must also submit at least two letters of recommendation. Letters of recommendation may not come from family members or friends, but must be written by teachers, employers or other professional colleagues.

In addition to the requirements listed above, applicants will be required to complete an essay focused on ambitions within the industry.

The Bob Edge Scholarship was established in 2005 to honor the work of Bob Edge through assistance to emerging commercial real estate professionals. Multiple scholarships of varying amounts may be awarded. The scholarship may be used for tuition and/or registration fees towards classes to achieve professional designations, such as but not limited to CCIM, SIOR, MAI, CPM, LED certification, etc., or to fulfill other real estate industry related requirements, memberships or degrees.

Eligibility:

Applicants must be:

  • In good standing as an employed real estate professional
  • Have a minimum of three years of experience in the commercial real estate industry
  • Be documented U.S. Citizens
Selection Criteria:

Awardees will be selected based on professional achievement, interest in advancing career, demonstrated community involvement, demonstrated leadership potential, financial need and letters of recommendation.

Bridges College Scholarship award one-year scholarships up to $10,000 to graduating seniors and past graduates of Bishop Lynch High School in Dallas, Texas.

Eligibility:

Applicants must be:

  • Any graduating senior or past graduate of Bishop Lynch High School in Dallas, Texas is eligible to apply.
Selection Criteria:

Selection is based upon financial need, letters of recommendation, aspirations and ideals as expressed in the required essays, school and extracurricular activities, and demonstrated leadership potential. Preference is given to previous recipients of the Bridges High School Scholarship and students planning to attend or currently attending a public college or university in the State of Texas.

Applicants will be required to complete the Financial Need Section of the General Application, two short essay responses and provide two letters of recommendation.

C.V.M Scholarship Fund provides a one-year scholarship of up to $10,000 total to a graduate of Mildred Independent School District pursuing a college degree, community college degree or trade school certification.

Eligibility:
  • Eligible applicants must be a graduate of a school in the Mildred Independent School District.
  • Eligible applicants must have a GPA of 4.0 out of 7.0.
  • Applicants must have a minimum SAT score of 1060 or an ACT score of 19.

Selection is based on average academic achievement, school and community participation, demonstrated leadership potential and average financial need.

The Carter Creech Scholarship provides scholarships up to $8,000 to graduating seniors of Troy Buchanan High School in Troy, Missouri to pursue an undergraduate degree at a four-year college or university.  Annual scholarships will range from $4,000 to a maximum of $8,000. Recipients can reapply each year and be considered for additional aid for up to a total of $16,000-$32,000 over four years.

Eligibility:
  • Eligible applicants must have a minimum 3.5 weighted GPA.
  • Minimum ACT of 27.
  • Ranked in the top 10% of their graduating class.
  • Completed at least one Honors/AP Course in each of the four core areas: Math, English, Science and Social Science earing a “C” or better in each core course.
  • Completed at least two units of foreign language with a “B” average or better.
Selection Criteria:

Selection criteria includes academic achievement, demonstrated leadership potential (through community participation, extra-curricular activities, awards, etc.) and financial need. Finalists may be interviewed by the Selection Committee.

Applicants are required to complete the FAFSA prior to applying in order to complete the Financial Need Section of the General Application and provide two letters of recommendation from teachers, counselors, coaches or community leaders.

The Cecil L. Smith Scholarship Fund provides a one-year scholarship of up to $5,000 to a graduate of Greenwood High School in Arkansas pursuing a college degree, community college degree or trade school certification. Scholarship monies may be used for tuition, fees and books and will be paid directly to the awardee’s school. Ideal candidates are those who demonstrate average achievement, hard work, self-sufficiency, and financial need.

Eligibility:
  • Eligible applicants must be a graduating senior of Greenwood High School in Arkansas
  • Must have a minimum 2.8 GPA
  • Applicants must be in need financial assistance

Selection criteria include scholastic achievement, school and community participation, demonstrated leadership potential and financial need. Preference is given to students attending public schools and universities.

All applicants must complete two short essays, provide at least one letter of recommendation and submit the FAFSA Student Aid Report in the Financial Need Section of the General Application.

The Charles E. Crow Memorial Scholarship Fund provides a one-year scholarship of up to $5,000 to a graduate of Big Pasture High School in Randlett, Oklahoma pursuing a college degree, community college degree or trade school certification.

Eligibility:
  • Eligible applicants must be a graduating senior of Big Pasture High School in Oklahoma.
  • Must have a minimum 2.8 GPA
  • Applicants must be in need financial assistance.
Selection Criteria:

Selection criteria include scholastic achievement, school and community participation, demonstrated leadership potential and financial need. Preference is given to students attending public schools and universities.

All applicants must complete two short essays, provide at least one letter of recommendation and submit the FAFSA Student Aid Report in the Financial Need Section of the General Application.

The Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages Scholarship Fund provides scholarships of up to $5,000 per student who intends to pursue a degree at any accredited trade or vocational school, 2-year or 4-year college, university or graduate school in the United States or its possessions. Applicants must be dependents of full-time Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages LLC employees who have been employed for at least one year at the time of the application deadline. Dependents of Executive Leadership Team members are not eligible to apply for a scholarship. There are no limitations on area of study.

Eligibility:
  • Applicants must be current graduating high school seniors, past high school graduates with a degree or GED equivalent or current college, trade or vocational school student, or graduate students looking to continue their studies.
  • Applicants must have a cumulative high school or college GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Applicants must be dependents of full-time Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages LLC employees who have been employed for at least one year at the time of the application deadline.
    • Employees must be employed at the time the scholarships are awarded in order for applicants to remain eligible.
    • Dependents of Executive Leadership Team members are not eligible to apply for a scholarship.

Selection is based on academic achievement, community service activities, aspirations and ideals as expressed in essay, and school and community participation.

The Common Cents Scholarship provides up to two $3,000 scholarships to students who have participated in the Dallas ISD Common Cents philanthropy program. Scholarships may be used for tuition, books, and fees for any field of student at an accredited 2-year or 4-year college, university, trade, or vocational school in the U.S.

Eligibility:
  • Eligible applicants must be current Juniors or Seniors at a Dallas ISD High School
  • Must have participated in the Common Cents program in the year in which they are applying for the scholarship
Selection Criteria:

May include but are not limited to scholastic achievement, community participation, and leadership skills. Financial need is not a strong selection factor for this scholarship.

CREW in the Community (CIC), the philanthropic arm of Commercial Real Estate Women, Dallas Chapter (CREW Dallas), strives to improve the lives of women in the Dallas area by creating pathways to success and economic independence through educational & professional opportunities.

The CREW in the Community Education Scholarship provides scholarships of up to $5,000 each year to female students who (i) are pursuing a degree in a Qualified Field of Commercial Real Estate at any accredited 2-year or 4-year undergraduate or graduate college or university in the United States or its territories; (ii) indicates interest in one of the QFCREs as a career option and are pursuing a degree in any accredited 2-year or 4-year college or university in the United States or its territories; or (iii) are pursuing a certificate, credential, or license to work in a QFCRE at any accredited trade or vocational school in the United States or its territories.

Eligibility:
  • Applicants must be in good standing as a student.
  • Applicants (i) must be graduating seniors or past graduates of a high school in one of the following North Texas Counties: Dallas, Collin, Tarrant, Denton, Rockwall, Kaufman or Ellis, or (ii) must be enrolled at or will attend an accredited trade, vocational school or a 2-year, 4-year or graduate school program within the same list of counties and enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours.
  • Applicants must be United States citizens, documented permanent residents or be otherwise legally authorized to study in the US.
Selection Criteria:

Selection criteria includes financial need, aspirations and ideals related to future studies or career plans as expressed in an essay response, and school activities and/or extracurricular activities.

Up to $5,000 per student with the ability to re-apply on an annual basis with reviews conducted by the Scholarship Advisory Committee each year.

The Dallas Athletic Club Scholarship provides one-year scholarships of up to $15,000 to Dallas Athletic Club employees and immediate family members to be used for tuition, books, and on-campus housing fees for any field of study at any accredited 2-year or 4-year college or university or trade/vocational schools within the United States.

Eligibility:
  • Applicants must be DAC employees and immediate family members of a DAC employee (immediate family member is defined as a child, step-child or dependent, grandchild, with preference given to children over dependent grandchildren).
  • Eligible DAC employees are defined as those in good standing who have been employed with the DAC part-time or full time for at least 12 consecutive months.
  • General Managers and their immediate families are not eligible to apply.
  • If you are a graduating high school senior or currently in college a minimum 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
  • If you graduated high school more than 3 years ago and do not still have your grades and transcripts, a copy of your graduate certificate or GED will suffice for academic eligibility.

All applicants will be required to complete a short essay and provide a letter of recommendation.

The Dallas Geological Society/DGS/Hilsewick/Shepherd/Sistrunk/Stanley/Dodge Scholarship Endowment Scholarships (DGS) Scholarships are one-year awards of up to $5,000 given to current undergraduate and graduate students pursuing a degree in Geological Sciences. Number of recipients and award amounts vary.

Eligibility:
  • Eligible applicants must be U.S. Citizens or documented residents of the U.S. (student visas will not qualify).
  • Must be students who reside in the Dallas area or whose parents reside in the Dallas area majoring in the study of Geological Sciences.
  • Have a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 Scale.
Selection Criteria:

Selection is based on academic achievement, financial need and school and extracurricular activities. Preference will be given to undergraduates who have completed 12 semester hours of advanced or core geology courses beyond the introductory level.

It is recommended that all applicants submit at least one letter of recommendation. Graduate student applicants are required to include an outline or abstract of their thesis topic.

Denbury Scholarships, sponsored by the Kendall Family, are awards for employees, children or dependents of employees who were employed by Denbury Inc. at the time it merged with ExxonMobil.

Scholarships are awarded in the amount of up to $5,000 per student per year that may be used for tuition, books, fees, and on campus housing at any college, university, trade or vocational school in the United States or its possessions. Students may re-apply on an annual basis for up to four years.

Eligibility:
  • Eligible applicants must be employees, children of employees, dependents of employees who were employed by Denbury Inc. at the time of its acquisition by ExxonMobil.
  • Employees must have been in good standing and employed continuously at Denbury Inc. for at least one year prior to November 2, 2023.
  • Applicants must be current graduating high school seniors, current college students, or past high school graduates with a degree or GED equivalent.
  • Students seeking graduate level degrees or certifications are not eligible to apply.
Selection Criteria:

The selection criteria includes school and community participation, demonstrated leadership potential, and financial need.

Applicants are required to respond to financial need questions, submit a required essay and provide two letters of recommendation.

The Dr. Anson L. Clark Scholarship Fund provides multiple scholarships of up to $20,000 total to graduating seniors from Dallas Independent School District (DISD) schools to support attending an accredited college or university in the State of Texas.

Eligibility:
  • Eligible applicants must have a minimum 3.2 GPA.
  • Eligible applicants must either have a minimum SAT score of 1190 or an ACT score of 24.
Selection Criteria:

Selection is based on academic achievement, school and civic activities and financial need.

All applicants are encouraged to request at least two letters of recommendation and are required to complete a brief essay questions.

The ECLAT Foundation Scholarship provides one-year $2,000 scholarships to graduating seniors or college students that plan to or attend an accredited college or university in the State of Texas.

Eligibility:
  • Eligible applicants must be current graduating seniors or college students either currently residing in or who are past graduates of a high school in Collin, Dallas, Denton, Ellis, Hunt, Kaufman, Johnson, Parker, Rockwall, Tarrant, or Wise Counties.
  • Must intend to pursue or are currently pursuing a baccalaureate degree at an accredited college or university in the state of Texas.
  • College Freshman, Sophomores and Juniors may apply, but College Seniors are not eligible for consideration.
  • Eligible applicants must have a cumulative high school GPA of 3.5 or a college GPA of 3.0.
  • Applicants must have a minimum SAT score of 960 or ACT score of 18.
Selection Criteria:

Selection criteria includes academic excellence, school and community participation and demonstrated leadership potential, with a focus on financial need.

All applicants will be required to provide two letters of recommendation and complete an essay. Applicants will also have to complete the FAFSA in order to complete the Financial Need Section of the General Application. Finalists will be invited to interview at Communities Foundation of Texas or via Skype.

The Elizabeth Abrams Memorial Scholarship: is a one-year, $3,000 scholarship for graduating seniors of Plano East, Plano West, Plano Sr. High School or John Paul II High School that were members of the school swim team their senior year. Given to honor the spirit, strength and contribution of Elizabeth “Lizzie” Abrams.

Eligibility:
  • Eligible candidates must have a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4-point scale.
  • Applicants must have a minimum SAT score of 1030, and a minimum ACT score of 20.
Selection Criteria:

Selection criteria include scholastic achievement, athletic and community participation, leadership skills and essay response. Financial need is not a strong selection factor for this scholarship.

All applicants must provide 2 recommendations from teachers or counselors and provide an essay response.

The Elizabeth Anne Ala Scholarship awards one scholarship of up to $2,000 to a graduating senior of any high school in Garland ISD that has participated and excelled in the bilingual studies/ESL program. The scholarship may be used for tuition, fees and books at any accredited college or university in the United States or its possessions.

Eligibility:
  • Eligible applicants must have a minimum 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Eligible applicants must have achieved a 3.5 or greater cumulative GPA in all bilingual/ESL classes.
  • Applicants must be U.S. Citizens or documented legal residents of the United States.
Selection Criteria:

Selection criteria include academic excellence in bilingual studies, school and community participation, demonstrated leadership potential, essay response, letters of recommendation and financial need.

All Applicants will be required to submit a short essay and two letters of recommendation and complete the FAFSA in order to complete the Financial Need Section of the General Application.

The General James H. Doolittle Scholarship Fund provides one or more scholarships of up to $5,000 to college juniors, seniors or graduate students pursuing a degree in aerospace science, aeronautical engineering or a related field at any accredited college or university in the United States or its possessions.

Eligibility:
  • Applicants must have a minimum 2.75 GPA.
  • Applicants must have completed at least 52 hours of college course work by the end of the academic semester in which they apply.
  • Applicants must also be citizens of the United States.
Selection Criteria:

Selection criteria includes scholastic achievement, letters of recommendation, essay response, school and community participation and financial need.

All applicants will be required to submit two letters of recommendation, complete the FAFSA in order to complete the Financial Need Section of the General Application, and submit an essay.

The Giana Foundation Scholarship provide one-year scholarships of up to $5,000 to current graduating high school seniors of a public high school in Dallas, Collin or Denton counties who intend to pursue a degree in the Visual and/or Performing Arts. Awards may be used for tuition, books, and fees at any accredited four year college or university or community college in the United States. Up to four scholarships will be awarded annually.

Eligibility:
  • Eligible applicants must be current graduating high school seniors of a public high school in Dallas, Collin, or Denton counties in the state of Texas or students who are foreign nationals who have legally resided in the state of Texas for the past 12 months.
  • Applicants must have a cumulative high school GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Applicants must intend to pursue a degree in the Visual and/or Performing Arts.

The selection criteria includes school and community participation, demonstrated leadership potential, and financial need.

The Gigi and Louise Gartner Scholarship Fund provides one-year scholarships of up to $10,000 to high school seniors, current college students or post graduates of a high school in Dallas County, TX who intend to pursue a baccalaureate or advanced degree in holistic medicine, mind-body medicine, integrative health, natural medicine, nutrition and aging, or other holistic medicine-related fields study at any accredited college or university in the state of Texas. Scholarships may be renewed.

Eligibility:
  • Eligible applicants must be graduating seniors or past graduates of a high school in Dallas County, Texas.
  • Applicants must have a cumulative high school or college GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Applicants must be in good standing as a student.
  • Applicants must intend to pursue a degree in holistic medicine, mind-body medicine, integrative health, natural medicine, nutrition and aging, or other holistic medicine-related field of study.
  • Applicants must be United States citizens or documented legal residents of the United States.
Selection Criteria:

Selection criteria includes scholastic achievement, school and community participation, demonstrated leadership potential, and aspirations and ideals related to holistic medicine and focus of interest expressed in an essay.

Applicants are required to complete the FAFSA prior to applying in order to complete the Financial Need Section of the Universal Application, submit a required essay, and provide two letters of recommendation.

The Grady Graves Scholarship provides four year scholarships to graduating seniors of Crowell High School in Crowell, Texas of up to $20,000 per student.

Eligibility:
  • Eligible applicants must be graduating seniors of Crowell High School in Crowell, Texas.
Selection Criteria:

Selection is based on demonstrated academic achievement, athletic ability, a reputation for honesty, integrity and morality in the community, a need for financial assistance, and the ability to demonstrate their greatest potential to contribute to society.

All applicants must complete the FAFSA in order to submit information in the Financial Need Section of the General Application, submit an essay response and provide two letters of recommendation.

The Greystar Scholarship provides scholarships of up to $5,000 for graduating high school seniors and current college students who are dependents of Greystar team members who intend to pursue a degree at any accredited nonprofit trade school, 2-year or 4-year college or university, or graduate school in the United States or its possessions. There are no limitations on area of study.

Eligibility:
  • Eligible applicants must be current graduating high school seniors, past high school graduates with a degree or GED equivalent or current undergraduate or graduate students looking to continue their studies.
  • Applicants must have a GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Applicants must be dependents of full-time Greystar team members who have been employed for at least two current consecutive years by or before August 1 of the current year. Dependents of corporate and on-site team members are eligible to apply.
    • The team member must be employed at the time the scholarship application is submitted, when the recipient is selected, and at the time the scholarship is paid unless termination is outside of the employee’s control.
    • Dependents of team members who are Managing Directors, Senior Managing Directors, and Executive Directors and Officers are not eligible to apply for a scholarship.

Selection is based on aspirations and ideals as expressed in an essay, letters of recommendation, community service activities, demonstrated financial need.

The Harris-Lee Ranch Scholarship provides a one-year $5,000 Scholarship to a graduating high school senior at Throckmorton High School senior at Throckmorton High School in Throckmorton, Texas who intends to pursue a degree at any accredited 2-year or 4-year college, university or trade school.

Eligibility:
  • Applicants must be U.S. Citizens or documented legal residents of the United States
Selection Criteria:

Selection criteria includes scholastic achievement, school and community participation, demonstrated leadership potential, and financial need.

Applicants are required to provide a short essay and a recommendation from a teacher or school counselor, which can be requested through the general application.

The Henry Jackson Crook Memorial Scholarship Fund supports students who attend the Episcopal School of Dallas with awards of up to $5,000 a year.

This scholarship opens on March 24, 2025.

Eligibility:
  • Eligible applicants attend Episcopal School of Dallas as incoming high school freshmen – seniors
  • Applicants must have a 3.00 GPA (B average) or higher
  • Applicants must be a citizen/legal resident
Selection Criteria:

Applicants must showcase or provide:

  • Financial need as determined by the Office of Admissions and Tuition Assistance at Episcopal School of Dallas
  • One written letter of recommendation
  • Aspirations and ideals as expressed in an essay
  • School activities and extra curricular activities
  • Demonstrated leadership potential

No immediate relatives of the committee are eligible to apply.

The Horticultural Printers Scholarship Fund in Memory of Harold & Beky Vanberg awards scholarships to children and/or dependents of employees of Veritiv (formerly Orora Visual). This one-year scholarship of up to $5,000 per year (up to $2,500 per semester for two semesters) may be used at any accredited college or university in the United States.

The Jack Ford Shelby Scholarship Fund awards up to $5,000 to a graduating senior at Littlefield High School in Littlefield, Texas, who intends to pursue a baccalaureate degree at any accredited college or university in the United States or its possessions.

Eligibility:
  • Eligible applicants must be graduating seniors from Littlefield High School in Littlefield, TX.
  • Applicants must have a minimum 2.75 GPA.
  • Applicants must be in financial need.

The Northwood Woman’s Club Scholarship provides multiple one-year scholarships between $2,500 and $5,000 to female students to attend any accredited post-secondary educational institution. This scholarship may be used for tuition, books, and fees to attend institutions including 4-year colleges, junior college and vocational schools in the United States or its possessions. There are no limitation on field of study.

Eligibility:
  • Eligible applicants must be female graduating seniors, past high school graduates with a degree or GED equivalent or current college students looking to continue their studies.
  • Applicants must reside in Dallas or Collin County, Texas and be United States citizens or documented legal residents of the United States.
  • Graduating seniors, high school graduates and current college students must have a minimum GPA of 2.5.
  • No current members or family members of current members of the Northwood Woman’s Club are eligible to apply.

Selection criteria includes financial need, letters of recommendation, aspirations and life challenges as expressed in the essay response, school activities and/or community/extracurricular activities and demonstrated leadership potential.

Applicants are required to provide two letters of recommendation and complete an essay.

The Om & Shanti Scholarship provides four-year awards of up to $6,000 per student per year to graduating high school seniors of a public high school in Dallas or Collin Counties in the State of Texas. Preference will be given to applicants who intend to pursue a degree at an accredited educational institution in the state of Texas.

  • Applicants must have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Preference will be given to applicants who intend to pursue a degree at an accredited educational institution in the state of Texas.

The Palacios Area Fund Scholarships award up to five one-time $500 to $1000 scholarships each year to graduating seniors of Palacios High School in the State of Texas. These scholarships may be used at any accredited college, university, junior college, vocational institute or trade school in the United States.

  • Clarence G. Ripke, Jr. Scholarship: student must show an interest in the sport of baseball, be it physical or through collecting baseball memorabilia. Both male and female students should apply and applicants do not need to pursue a career in the sport to be eligible.
  • Edward O. Morris Scholarship: student must show evidence of financial need, demonstrate scholastic ability, good citizenship and exercise Christian values.
  • Bill and Carolyn Bradshaw Scholarship for Students with Disabilities: students who experience either physical or mental disabilities and/or are enrolling in a career program to help people who have disabilities.
  • Smith/Holst Endowment Scholarship: to provide the encouragement and financial support of a deserving student with inadequate financial resources the opportunity to get a firm start.
  • Warren M. Morris III Scholarship: to provide encouragement and financial support to a deserving student enrolling in a STEM-related (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics) career program.

  • Eligible applicants must be graduating seniors of Palacios High School in the State of Texas.

Selection criteria includes school and community participation, demonstrated leadership potential and financial need as determined by the scholarship committee. All recipients must be citizens or documented legal residents of the United States.

Student must submit two letters of recommendation, one of which should be from a teacher, coach or principal.

The Roy and Mae Smith Scholarship provides a one-year scholarship of up to $5,000 total to a graduate of Charleston High School in Charleston, Arkansas pursuing a college degree, community college degree, or trade school certification. Scholarship monies may be used for tuition, fees and books and will be paid directly to the awardee’s school. Ideal candidates are those who demonstrate average achievement, hard work, self-sufficiency, and financial need.

Eligibility:
  • Eligible applicants must be a graduating senior of Charleston High School in Arkansas.
  • Applicants must have a minimum 2.8 GPA.
  • Applicants must be in financial need.

The Simon Greenstone (SGP) Scholarship awards multiple one-year scholarships to students impacted by cancer. Award amounts vary, but will total $50,000 annually and may be used to support tuition, books and fees at any accredited college or University in the United States or its possessions.

Eligibility:
  • Eligible applicants must be graduating high school seniors from any public or private high school in Dallas County or previous recipients of the SGP Scholarship that have been impacted by cancer in one of the following ways:
  • Have an immediate family member (mother, father, stepmother, stepfather, brother or sister) who is under a current cancer diagnosis and/or treatment for cancer;
  • Have an immediate family member who has passed away within the last two years from cancer; or
  • Are themselves under a current cancer diagnosis and/or treatment for cancer.
  • Eligible applicants must also have a minimum 3.0 GPA and have either a minimum SAT score of 960 or 18 ACT score.
  • Applicants must also be United States citizens or documented legal residents of the United States.

Selection criteria includes scholastic achievement, school and community participation, demonstrated leadership potential, and a description of the hardship, financial or otherwise, imposed due to cancer.

Two letters of recommendation and an essay response are required. This is a one-year scholarship with the opportunity to re-apply.

The Subhasish Bhowmik Memorial Scholarship awards scholarships of up to $10,000 to graduating high school seniors from Emmett J. Conrad High School or Hillcrest High School who are interested in pursuing a college degree, community college degree, or trade school certification.

The Texas DPS Scholarship awards scholarships to current or retired employees of the Texas Department of Public safety or immediate family members of current, retired or deceased employees of Texas DPS. Scholarships may be used at any accredited college or university in the United States or its possessions.

Eligibility:
  • Applicants must be a current or retired employee of the Texas Department of Public Safety or an immediate family member (spouse, parent or child) of a current, retired or deceased employee of the Texas DPS.
  • Applicants must be graduating seniors or past graduates of a high school in the state of Texas or foreign nationals who have legally resided in the state of Texas for the past 12 months.
  • Applicants must have a cumulative high school or college GPA of 3.00 on a 4.0 scale and a minimum SAT score of 960 or an ACT score of 18.
  • Applicants who graduated from high school more than three years ago and do not have records of test scores or transcripts may submit a copy of a graduation certificate or GED.
  • Applicants must be United States citizens or documented legal residents of the United States.

The Allene Mae Kraus Memorial Scholarship awards one $20,000 scholarship ($5,000 a year for four years) every four years to a graduating senior from Round Top-Carmine ISD in Texas. The scholarship may be used for tuition, books, and fees at any accredited 4-year college or university.

  • be graduating seniors from a high school in Round Top-Carmine ISD in Texas
  • have a minimum GPA of 2.8
  • an SAT score of 1030+ or ACT score of 22+

The Van London Memorial Scholarship provides a one-year scholarship of up to $15,000 to students who are blind and intend to pursue or are pursuing a college degree, community college degree, or trade school certification. Scholarship monies may be used for tuition, fees, books, and on campus housing and will be paid directly to the awardee’s school.

William A. Turner, Jr. Endowed Scholarship Fund provides $5,000 or $6,000 scholarships to enrolled Juniors and Seniors at the University of North Texas in Denton, TX who are pursuing a degree within the College of Education. One or more annual scholarships will be awarded in the amount of up to $5,000 or $6,000 per student. If the student is enrolled in 9 credit hours or more in a semester, the award amount may be up to $5,000 for the academic year. If the student is enrolled in 12 credit hours or more in a semester, the award amount may be up to $6,000 for the school year. Scholarships may be used for tuition and education-related fees.

Eligibility:
  • Eligible students must be in good standing as a student, and enrolled in a minimum of 9 credit hours at the University of North Texas as a Junior or Senior in the College of Education. If the student is enrolled in 12 credit hours or more in a semester, the award amount may be increased, as referenced above.
  • Eligible students must have a minimum cumulative college GPA of 2.50 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Eligible students must agree to pursue (attempt to gain) employment in the Texas Public School system.
  • Eligible students must be United states citizens or documented legal residents of the United States.

The William and Susan Soza Scholarship provides one-year, $1,000 awards to graduating seniors from Presidio High School in Presidio, Texas or previous recipients of the scholarship. Awards may be used for tuition support at any accredited college, university or trade school in the United States. The intent of the scholarship is to make a difference in the lives of young adults by providing quality education to students in financial need who have achieved an average degree of academic excellence.

  • Eligible applicants must be graduating seniors from Presidio High School in Presidio, Texas or previous recipients.
