Felix A. Rodriguez Memorial Fund

Felix A. Rodriguez Memorial Fund

To celebrate the life and legacy of our beloved brother, Felix Angel Rodriguez (“Felito”), who passed away in February 2025, we are proud to announce the creation of the FELIX A. RODRIGUEZ MEMORIAL FUND.

Felix’s passion for jazz was unmatched. He spent countless hours listening to legends—from Jean Pierre Rampal and Herbie Mann to Nestor Torres and Dave Valentin—and taught himself to play both the congas and the flute. Driven by love for the music, Felix pursued formal lessons to hone his skills, always returning to the vibrant rhythms and soulful energy of Latin jazz that spoke to his heart more than anything else.

In Felix’s memory, this fund will provide annual grants to students across the United States who are studying music with an emphasis on Latin Jazz at accredited institutions. The fund also welcomes applications from self-taught musicians engaged in programs run by established artists at community-based nonprofit (501c3) organizations. Candidates must be recommended by a department head, music program director, or a recognized musician within the Latin jazz community.

Help us honor Felix by supporting aspiring musicians and advancing the heritage of Latin jazz. Your tax-deductible donation will help KEEP THE MUSIC PLAYING for generations to come.
