To honor our brother, Felix Angel Rodriguez (“Felito”), who passed away in February 2025, we are establishing the FELIX A. RODRIGUEZ MEMORIAL FUND.
Felix had a deep love for jazz, spending hours listening to the greats—Jean Pierre to Herbie Mann to Nestor Torres and Dave Valentine—as well as teaching himself to play the congas and flute. As his passion grew, he took formal lessons to refine his flute playing, but his heart was always drawn to Latin jazz. The rhythms, the energy, and the soul of the music spoke to him in a way nothing else could.
Through this fund, we honor Felix’s memory and his love for the music that inspired him. By fostering opportunities for learning and growth, the fund will provide support to promote the study and appreciation of Latin jazz and its cultural underpinnings, ensuring that this vibrant art form continues to thrive for future generations.
Through this initiative, we hope to not only support but to inspire the next wave of Latin jazz enthusiasts, artists, and educators to keep the Latin culture alive in Felix’s memory.
Please join us honoring Felix by making a tax-deductible contribution and KEEP THE MUSIC PLAYING.
