Blackland Prairie Raptor Center (BPRC) believes in experience-based environmental education that heightens appreciation and respect for birds of prey and their vital role in maintaining a healthy ecosystem. BPRC engages in outreach and onsite programming with live education ambassador raptors.
They are the only raptor-specific hospital in North Texas, receiving an average 600 patients each year and releasing them back into the wild. They are conservationists actively restoring endangered Blackland Prairie necessary for the survival of many raptor species as well as other wildlife.

BPRC board members should:
- Bring a professional skill to the board – fundraising and accounting are a plus.
- Have an interest and passion for Texas’ environment and education
- Have an appreciation for wildlife rehabilitation

Board members must:
- Attend monthly meetings
- Assist in some outreach activities at community events
- Make contacts for funding opportunities
- Assist with BPRC’s Annual Volunteer Appreciation Dinner
Board service terms last two years.
