Brave Roots Foundation

  • Brave Roots Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering local entrepreneurs—especially women and minority-owned businesses—by organizing inclusive farmers markets and community events in Collin County, TX. New board members may begin their terms in Spring 2026.

  • Board members should:

    • Have familiarity with donor cultivation, sponsorships, or grant writing
    • Identify funding sources and review applications
    • Make fundraising asks or host donor events
    • Have an understanding of nonprofit law, IRS 501(c)(3) rules, and Texas governance
    • Understand board governance or risk management
    • Have bookkeeping, budgeting, or financial oversight skills
    • Review financial reports and ensure fiscal responsibility
    • Set goals, evaluate impact, and grow programs
    • Have experience with board development or nonprofit scaling
    • Have experience working with minority-owned businesses or underserved communities
  • Board members must:

    • Commit to a 2-year term
    • Attend monthly meetings
  • VISIT THEIR SITE
