The Friends of the Juanita Craft Civil Rights House and Museum was formed as a steering committee in 2018, collaborated with the City of Dallas Office of Arts and Culture and the Junior League of Dallas to restore Ms. Craft’s home with the goal of achieving museum accreditation and recognition as a Texas Historic Landmark. They received nonprofit status in 2022, and welcomed the reopening of the museum in 2023. Today, the organization supports the Juanita Craft House, owned and operated by the City of Dallas, through programming, partnerships, and education.

Friends of Juanita Craft Civil Rights House & Museum is seeking five board members to join for two years beginning in the Fall of 2026.
The board is seeking new directors to support the organization’s mission and expand impact in the next year. As a volunteer board, they are seeking individuals that are ready to be active participants in programming, fundraising, and advocacy.

Terms/Participation
- Attend monthly board meetings and participate in at least one board committee
- Regularly attend programs and events, sponsored by or the Friends of Juanita Craft and partners
- Make an annual financial contribution (giving or receiving), which can be in the form of personal contributions and/or support of fundraising events
