Joyful Hooves is a 501c3 nonprofit whose primary mission is literacy. They use well-trained rescued miniature horses to encourage children to read in a non-judgmental environment. Reading to miniature horses increases confidence, fluency and a positive association to reading.

Joyful Hooves is seeking one board member to join for two years beginning September 1, 2026.
Board Member criteria includes passion for literacy and rescue animals, strong ties to the community, attend all quarterly board meetings, make an annual contribution that demonstrates commitment to the organization, assist in identifying potential donors, sponsor and volunteers, and live in Argyle, TX or a surrounding area.
