Literacy United exists to provide high-quality supplemental reading support, particularly in reading assessment and therapy, aimed at enhancing literacy skills and fostering lifelong learning.
Through strategic partnerships, Literacy United ensures individuals from all backgrounds have access to the tools they need for academic and personal success.

Board members must:

Provide fiduciary oversight

Offer ongoing strategic counsel and advice

Give financially based on their ability (e.g., participating in fundraisers, matching grants, or making recurring monthly donations)

Make Literacy United a philanthropic priority by sharing fundraising opportunities and marketing materials with individuals and organizations that may support the mission

Attend and prepare for quarterly Board of Directors meetings

Serve on and occasionally lead board committees and board development programs

Provide volunteer support for fundraising or marketing efforts, such as book donation events, creating reading therapy materials, or attending vendor/marketing events to promote Literacy United
