The Monuments Men and Women Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization created to raise worldwide awareness about the service of the Monuments Men and Women, honor them for their achievements, and complete their unfinished mission of returning missing art to the rightful owners.

Board members should:
- Have fundraising skills or access to prospective donors
- Serve for a minimum of one year

Board members are expected to:
- Attend four (4) board meetings per year. The total annual time commitment is approximately 24 hours, consisting of: 12 hours in board meetings (four meetings at approximately three hours each); and 12 hours dedicated to reviewing materials, reading updates and memoranda, and addressing Foundation business between meetings.
- Make an initial contribution of at least $10,000 and to support the work of the Foundation through ongoing annual giving and campaign participation. Board members are also expected to serve as ambassadors for the Foundation by providing introductions to prospective trustees, donors, and strategic partners.
