    • The organization currently has 2 board members and is looking to add 5 new members to expand its leadership capacity.

    • The fiscal year begins on January 1, 2025, and new board members will begin their term in Spring 2025.

    • Each board term lasts for 3 years.

    Desired Qualities & Skills

Ideal candidates will bring diverse backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives to the board. Sterling First Aid CPR values inclusive representation that reflects the communities it serves.

The organization is especially interested in individuals with experience in:

    • Nonprofit governance

    • Fundraising and development

    • Community engagement and advocacy

    • Health and safety

    • Education and program development
Additionally, expertise in finance, marketing, public relations, and legal services is highly desired.

Both seasoned professionals and emerging leaders are encouraged to apply. Prior board experience is helpful but not required. What matters most is a strong sense of enthusiasm, dedication, and a passion for making a difference.

Board members should also be committed to the organization’s mission and willing to contribute meaningfully to strategic planning, fundraising, and community outreach.

    Time & Financial Commitments

Board members are encouraged to make a personal financial contribution to the organization at a level that is meaningful to them. While there is no minimum required amount, this gesture demonstrates commitment to the mission.

Members are also expected to participate actively in fundraising efforts, which may include securing sponsorships, donations, or in-kind support from personal or professional networks.

The time commitment is estimated at 5 to 10 hours per month. This includes:

    • Attending approximately 4 to 6 board meetings per year, held either virtually or in person

    • Serving on at least one committee, such as Fundraising, Outreach, or Program Development

    • Participating in major organizational events, including training sessions, community outreach initiatives, and fundraising activities

Sterling First Aid CPR values the time, energy, and resources contributed by its board members and aims to make the experience rewarding and impactful for all involved.
