Texas Companion Animal Resource & Education Society (Texas CARES) is a 501(c)(3) cat‑only rescue founded in 1993, making them one of the oldest organizations of their kind in Texas. They partner with local shelters to help when they are overcrowded, taking in cats as foster space allows. Their adoptable cats and kittens can be met at their PetSmart Prosper and Petco West Plano adoption centers, as well as monthly events at Hollywood Feed in McKinney. Every cat receives full veterinary screening, age‑appropriate vaccinations, microchipping, and spay/neuter or a voucher when adopted young, ensuring they are healthy and ready for loving forever homes.
