The Wright Cause Urban Youth Conservation

  • The Wright Cause Urban Youth Conservation (TWCUYC) strengthens communities through housing stability, education, community engagement, and advocacy. Our work focuses on practical solutions that improve stability, access, and long term opportunity for individuals and families facing systemic barriers. TWCUYC is rooted in lived experience and community driven action. They prioritize accountability, measurable outcomes, and sustainable growth while building pathways for people to thrive economically and mentally.

    TWCUYC is based in Dallas, Texas and serves surrounding communities.

  • The organization is specifically seeking one board member with experience in accounting, financial strategy, or CPA credentials, as well as one board member to serve as Board Secretary with experience in governance, nonprofit compliance, or organizational leadership.

    The organization values individuals with lived experience serving underserved communities, a strong commitment to fiscal stewardship, excellent collaboration skills, and a deep dedication to advancing the organization’s mission.

  • Board members:

    • Currently meet monthly, with one in person meeting per quarter and the remaining meetings held virtually

    • Are expected to attend at least eighty five percent of all scheduled meetings

    • Are required to serve on at least one committee (Finance, Governance, or Fundraising)

    • Actively support strategic planning and organizational sustainability

    • Attend organizational events and table at a minimum of three community events per year

    • Participate in annual Give or Get commitments

    • Support outreach and relationship building

    • Contribute to financial oversight and resource development

    • Support the mission, vision, and values of TWCUYC

    • Attend the annual fundraiser and at least three community events

    • Support tabling, outreach, and community engagement

    • Act as ambassadors for TWCUYC

    • Maintain confidentiality and avoid conflicts of interest

    • Disclose potential conflicts and recuse when appropriate

    Board service terms last two years.
