TLT-Tomorrow’s Leaders Today, Inc. (TLT)

  • TLT – Tomorrow’s Leaders Today, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to helping develop leaders through education, collaboration and mentorships with community and business leaders for the collective benefit of the community.

    Throughout Texas, the nonprofit works in-person with 5th grade and adult participants, mostly in underserved, economically challenged situations, to integrate their career path & goals, while developing leadership qualities and real-life skills.

  • TLT is looking for three new board members to serve two-year terms beginning in the fall of 2025.

    Board members should plan to attend virtual and in-person board meetings. These are held on the second Tuesday of January, March, May, August, October, and November from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. unless otherwise noted.

  • Each Director of the Board and Advisory Board member must be a U.S. citizen and have attained the age of 18 years.

    Directors elected to the board should have graduated from a Leadership Program or have taken part in a similar experience.

    Directors of the Board, and Advisory Board appointed by the holder of any office or an Officer or board of any other organization are to act in their own right and not as a representative of any interest or group.

    Each Director of the Board or Advisory Board member 18 years and older, must have successfully passed a multi-state criminal background verification annually, prior to attending any event where the TLT participants are present. The results of all information will be maintained by the Executive Director and remain confidential. The Executive Director will inform the Secretary of the status to be noted as completed in the minutes.

    Each Director or Advisory Board member must commit a minimum of six (6) hours monthly of time, talent, treasure and/or facilitating program sessions to support the mission of the Corporation. **All positions.

    Each Director or Advisory Board member must act in the best interests of TLT – Tomorrow’s Leaders Today (TLT), and to make recommendations based on his or her experience and vantage point.

    Each Director or Advisory Board member must avoid conflicts of interest and make notice of them when they arise.

    Each Director or Advisory Board member must attend and participate in meetings on a regular basis, and special events as able.

    Each Director must participate on a standing committee of the board, and serve on ad-hoc committees as necessary. It is suggested the Advisory Board members consider doing so as well. Current standing committees include: Governance, Financial, Youth Advisory, Development/Marketing, Operations/Programming, Internal Affairs and External Affairs to name a few.

    Each Director or Advisory Board member must be alert to community concerns that can be addressed by TLT’s mission, objectives, and programs.

    Each Director or Advisory Board member must help communicate and promote TLT’s mission and programs to the community.

    Each Director must be familiar with TLT’s finances, budget, and financial/resource needs.

    Each Director must be familiar with TLT’s policies and procedures.

    Each Director must financially support and promote TLT in a manner commensurate with one’s ability to raise or donate a minimum of $2000 annually or $167 per month. Advisory Board members are encouraged to support TLT to the best of their ability.

    Each position term is 2 years.
