Winter Storm URI Nonprofit Deductible RFP
In response to the winter storm and extreme cold that hit Texas in late February 2021, Communities Foundation of Texas, Hoblitzelle Foundation, Lyda Hill Philanthropies, the Wood Foundation and the United Way of Metropolitan Dallas came together to provide support for 501c3 nonprofits in North Texas who experienced damage as a result of the prolonged cold and ice.

The Emma Lazarus Resilience Fund
The City of Dallas Office of Welcoming Communities and Immigrant Affairs (WCIA) partnered with the Open Society Foundations (OSF) and Communities Foundation of Texas to establish the Emma Lazarus Resilience Fund, a public-private effort that will distribute $500,000 to nonprofits that provide direct financial assistance to immigrant/refugee individuals and families who are otherwise ineligible for federal COVID-19 relief programs.

CFT, in conjunction with other funders, opened a special funding opportunity to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the 19th amendment.
The 19th Amendment Centennial LOI partnered with organizations to create a yearlong series of events to recognize the 100th anniversary of women's right to vote. Funding supports effective, inspirational and authentic ways to create conversation, drive positive change and build strategies to advance gender equity.

Data Driven Decision-Making (D3) Institute for Education
In 2016, Communities Foundation of Texas (CFT), the Commit! Partnership, and United Way of Metropolitan Dallas organized and supported a fourth Data Driven Decision-Making (D3) Institute for 2016-2017. This D3 Institute was designed to provide education-focused nonprofits that serve the needs of youth (ages 0-18), their educators, and/or their families the power to accelerate development of enduring service solutions that have greatest impact on students’ academic and social-emotional well-being.

Data Driven Decision-Making (D3) Institute
The D3 Institute was designed as a strategy bootcamp for nonprofits serving low-income working families. Selected agencies participated in monthly classroom-style workshops, received one-on-one coaching and built relationships with each other to enhance services. Since its inception in 2012 until its conclusion in 2015, 46 nonprofits participated in the three cohorts of D3.
