The fund name was inspired by a song by the band Rush. The lyrics are about having everyone do their part and all work together to “mold a new reality” to create positive change for society. A more modern take on it might be the saying “it takes a village” to accomplish something.
Jim Rector and Drue Townsend created this fund to be a small part of that desired change in areas that are close to their hearts, including helping small and medium-sized charities serving North Texas adults with basic needs such as food and healthcare, as well as in areas that can provide great joy to one’s soul – art and music.
Helping others is good for everyone involved, and it begins to bring us all “closer to the heart.”
