Friends of the Dallas Public Library

Friends of the Dallas Public Library supports the mission of the Dallas Public Library system to achieve excellence in its delivery of resources, services and information to the Dallas community. Funding will support the Dallas Public Library's 19th Amendment Centennial Project that will inform and celebrate the past as well as inspire civic activity in the future. The project will include the following topics: Amplifying Others - how to be an activist and advocate to support women in politics; Black Women's Suffrage - addressing racism and sexism; Inspiring Women - sharing experiences of running and serving in government; and Homelessness and Barriers to Voting - a guide for homeless library customers. These programs will be offered through various nonprofit partners. There are over 44,000 active library card users across the entire city.
