Sylvan Landau Founders Scholarship


The Sylvan Landau Founders Scholarship, of the Father of the Year Scholarship Fund, is awarded to a graduating high school senior in financial need who has achieved an average degree of academic excellence who intends to major in business or marketing. This scholarship may be used for tuition, fees and books at any accredited college or university in the state of Texas, including but not limited to four-year universities and community colleges.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Eligible applicants must be graduating seniors from a high school in Dallas, Tarrant, Collin or Denton Counties in Texas. 
  • Applicants be in good standing as students. 
  • Applicants must have a cumulative GPA of 2.74 on a 4.0 scale. 
  • Applicants must have a minimum SAT score of 1090 or ACT score of 22.
  • Applicants must intend to pursue a degree in business or marketing at an accredited college or university in the state of Texas.
  • Applicants must be U.S. citizens or documented legal residents of the United States.

Selection Criteria
Selection is based on essay response, school and community participation, demonstrated leadership potential, and financial need.

Two letters of recommendation attesting to an applicant’s community participation, demonstrated leadership potential and financial need will be required. All applicants must also complete the FAFSA and submit an essay response.
